My work has a mythical aesthetic, often perceived as whimsical. ethereal and dream-like. My desire to paint birds and flora evolved from moving from the city to a wonderful lifestyle block north of Nelson.
My painting technique is to lay the wood or canvas on the floor, bold brush strokes for the backgrounds, finger painting for the figures and finer detail achieved through wire scratching and pencil drawing.
